Last week one of our Poetry pupils, Calum, went down to the IET London Savoy Place for the Royal Society of Biology award ceremony.
A number of Stonyhurst pupils sat the British Biology Olympiad earlier in the year. The pupils had to complete two papers, requiring a wide range of knowledge on different Biology topics, including Genetics, Ecology and Physiology. They were also required to complete a number of data analysis tasks.
Of the 9,400 pupils aged 16-18 who entered the Olympiad, 1,600 received bronze, 900 received silver and 700 won gold.
Well done to Calum, who was awarded gold, we are very proud!
Following the awards ceremony last Friday, Calum stayed over night and visited Kew Gardens.
Many thanks to the Royal Society of Biology for the photograph of Calum and the other award winners.
