Still running since 1972, the Holiday Week ended successfully yesterday.
27 children from various local schools attended and were looked after by 42 fabulous Poetry/Rhetoric pupils who were their carers for the week. In addition, 13 OS took time off to help run the week with Matthew Porter clocking up his 20th Holiday Week this year!
There were lots of activities throughout the week with swimming galas, sports day, treasure hunt, arts and crafts, BBQ, discos, bouncy castles, a magician and a party to name but a few. There were two day trips; one to Blackpool Zoo where the children got to feed the giraffes, giant tortoises and watch a bird and sea lion display, and another to the Lake District where the children went on a boat ride then visited the aquarium or steam train.
The week is run by staff at the College (Elaine Whalley, Judith Parkinson, Lyndsay Fielding, Ruth Crossley and Rebecca Jackson) plus OS. Huge thanks to them all and to Father Tim and Catherine Hanley for their help making the week such a success.
