Six of our intrepid staff have been training for weeks for the London Marathon, which they will be running to raise funds for the work of Jesuit Missions.

The Stonyhurst Sprinters, as they are known, write:

“Men and women for others” is at the heart of everything we do here at Stonyhurst. In a bid to help those less fortunate than ourselves, we intend to raise £12,000 to support the work of Jesuit Missions in helping the poor. By running the marathon and raising awareness, we aim to put our faith into action and make a positive change to the lives of those in most need.

We are looking for sponsorship to support several projects that will benefit from the money raised, including helping marginalised people in countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America, to name but a few. In the past few years, marathon funds have helped refugees caught up in the fighting in the Middle East, including the provision of medical assistance in Syria and counselling for families in South Sudan.

Over this coming term, alongside our arduous training regime, we will be organising some fundraising events. In order to support our endeavours please follow the link below:

Thank you for your encouragement and your support for the wonderful cause for which we are raising funds!
