Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall draws a close to this Year of Mercy

Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall draws a close to this Year of Mercy

On Monday 14th November, a year on from our Whole School Mission, we were delighted to welcome back to Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall, Ten Ten Theatre. They provided an assembly on the Year of Mercy which concludes this Sunday. This was followed by three dramas each of which culminated in a reflection on the theme and prayer. The three plays performed were:

Up in the Clouds

FS2 , PP1 & 2

In this funny and entertaining story, children followed a day in the life of Ellie who learnt a

very important lesson: that you can find happiness not just by doing things for yourself, but by doing things for others.

The Gift

Lower and Upper Prep

The Gift tells the story of twins who have very different ideas about the value of gifts: one

believes gifts are special when they are given with love, the other that gifts are special

when they cost a lot of money! The children were challenged to think about the true value of gifts and giving.

Healthy Heart

Lower and Upper Elements

Healthy Heart is a moving story about the relationship between a young girl called Monika

and her Polish grandfather / grandmother. It explores issues around bullying, change,

family relationships and dignity.

Sophie Davenport and Verity Hewlitt from Ten Ten said afterwards “thank you so much for having us today, one year on [from the Mission]. The children were so lovely and gave us some really intelligent answers. We really enjoyed performing for everyone and hope they enjoyed it too.”
